aw.
this vid doesn't do this house justice. these guys have been SO nice to me for the past few days (and have kept my belly full each and every night). I'mma miss 'em.
The San Francisco bar scene is a pretty trendy place, and the food/service industry is no different. As someone that eats out a bunch it seems you can't swing a dead cat around this town without hitting:
- super cheap beer - PBR (tall-boys) / Miller High Life (mini bottles!) / 1$ cans of Tecate
- 'kid menu'-slash-comfort food passed off as an entree - fried chicken / tater tots / meatloaf / mac 'n cheese
- Fernet Branca
Needless to say, I'm not complaining in the least bit. I love me some cheap eats / a nice 6er of High Life and am well aware that all those little dollar signs add up to big fat ones - especially in this town. Considering every 6 months or so SFGate runs a story about how 'home cooked' style meals bring people out in droves, it makes sense really if you wanna have a steady crowd.
I only bring up this because it hit me last night as I was cooking dinner what my kitschy restaurant would serve as a side dish -- wagon wheel pasta! The lovely Miss K brought me home some wheels from Williams Sonoma last week as they were emptying out the office and I totally forgot how delishus they were. (add marinara/stewed tomatoes/diced wine&cheese snausages - all available @ your local TJ's)
Anyways, so there you have it - that's my big idea. Restauranteurs, feel free to steal my idea. You'll thank me later. Just please remember where you got it from.
...and when I saw 'we goin' to Sizzler'...we goin' ta SIZZLER!!
I had the ribs. She had the cajun red snapper. This was most certainly the first slash last time I'm ever gonna set foot in the place, but hey - you don't always win your Fantasy Football league in as dominating of a fashion as I did this year.
We even made a side trip to Target of all places, and in some parts of the world that means we're actually married.
This is one special lady.
chopped liver. wtf was I thinking?
